  • Pemmican: buffalo or bison meat cut into long then hung to dry and pounded into bits, mixed with berried and hot buffalo fat, then poured into a bag set to harden

 

  • Deer, elk, and moose meat cooked over a fire or dried

 

  • Dried or fresh berries
  • Bannock: bread cooked over a fire
  • Rabbit meat cooked over a fire or dried
  • Buffalo soup: soup made by simmering buffalo bones to create a broth, dried or boiled buffalo meat, and made from cooked vegetables and sometomes rice
  • Wild rice. They would eat the rice raw or cooked or in soups.
